Project Description
E-bikes could be an excellent alternative to driving cars for many people, and they are more accessible for some than traditional bicycles. But not everyone considers them as an option.
As e-bikeshare systems have become more ubiquitous, they may help some people become more aware of (and therefore more likely to try) e-bikes as an alternative to driving. Researchers at UC Davis took the opportunity of a new Davis bikeshare program to see how the system impacted peoples’ awareness of e-bikes.
It turns out that bikeshare raises awareness for e-bikes and might be a step in the right direction for getting some people to use them instead of driving.
